The search for a reliable, economical and safe subcompact car may just end with the release of the 2009 Chevy Aveo. Drivers that would never give this car a second glance now pay attention as the fuel-efficient factor of cars force drivers of larger cars to reconsider.

Three models were released with the Aveo LT as the deluxe version. The LT version is the only model that offers an automatic gearshift option. All models are very well priced, making them a very clever buy in this price range category.

To improve even more on the four-cylinder engine’s fuel consumption, Chevy reworked the valves adding a variable timing factor. More power, less fuel guzzled – a stroke of genius.

Some drivers may waste a bit of fuel getting used to the hand gear systems as they tend to have a bit of a stretch between them. But should you prefer the automatic shifts, be assured that the LT shows a definite increase in fuel savings due to the swift changes of the gearbox.

Chevrolet realized that many people would buy a smaller car if they felt safer in them and thus made this a strong focus when designing the Aveo. Their efforts went into the positioning of air bags in the right places to pass crash tests. Every Aveo comes standard with air cushions in the front side seat areas, and great attention was paid to the anti lock features introduced in the brakes.

Their efforts have paid off as the NHTSA awarded the Aveo their highest appraisal on safety – 5 stars- for the protection the Aveo gave it s driver. Passenger safety received four stars for those sitting in front and at the back three stars was awarded after side impact tests were done.

The Aveo is available in two body styles – the sedan as well as the four door hatch back model. All models seat 5 passengers in a freshly designed interior with many added features. Standard on all models are intermittent windscreen wipers, a stereo featuring am and fm stations, four speakers and an auxiliary jack. OnStar comes standard as well.

Stepping up to the LT deluxe model, you can choose a more superior cloth and metal trim interior finish. Extras on this model include 6 speakers, a CD player, satellite radio, electrically controlled access, windows and central locking.

The standard cloth interior finish is a great step up from previous models that lacked a bit of luster in this department. Many small cars have storage problems and the Aveo also have a small baggage compartment, but the LT surprises with a bit of extra packing space in the back.

The Aveo will suit city drivers very well as it guarantees a safe and economical way of commuting over short distances.

The Rugged And Useful 2004 Chevy Colorado

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

Taking a look at the 2004 Chevy Colorado will serve to remind one that he had an ancestor named the Chevy S10. And though it’s true that a bit of that midsize pickup’s DNA has gone into the Colorado, a side-by-side look at the two trucks would reveal almost no similarities. Making its debut in 2004, the truck is a result of a joint design operation between the company’s Brazil and United States studios.

Being built in one of two plants, the Chevy Colorado sold for use in the United States mainly comes out of the Shreveport Louisiana assembly facility. The truck presents itself with one of two transmission styles; automatic or manual. These two transmissions will made up with a number of different engines.

General Motors in the new millennium — along with Chevrolet — has realized that even a pickup truck owner might be concerned about fuel economy, and that’s why the company offers an in-line four-cylinder engine and a in-line five cylinder engine in varying sizes with the smallest one being a 2. 8 L powerplant. Additionally, power is transferred through those transmissions to either two wheels or four wheels.

Additionally, a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado will usually be found in one of two cab types: An extended version and a regular cab. Normally, most Colorado’s seen out on the roads will be of the extended variety, which has a small backseat. There are extended cab versions, and all trucks come in either two wheel or four-wheel drive.

In the four-wheel drive version (usually called the “Z71″), one will be able to get quite a bit of equipment for the money. The Colorado has been a strong seller from the get-go, and even overtook the very popular offering from another rival in 2005, mainly due to its fresh and attractive styling and all those engines, including a nice in-line five cylinder. This engine bridges the gap nicely between a four cylinder and a V-8.

As is the case with most vehicles offered in the Chevy lineup option offerings are usually lumped into a couple of different categories normally known as the LS and LT versions. Historically, the most fully equipped models of 2004 Chevy Colorado pickup trucks will have the LT2 equipment package. Chevrolet really proved that it was serious about bringing out a nice truck for its fans

The 2004 Chevy Colorado did well in picking up the midsize pickup truck duties from the old Chevy S10. Its appearance on the scene back then gave notice that Chevy was serious about having trucks that looked good and use those little gas as possible while also delivering as much performance as possible.

1969 Chevy Camaro Interior

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

Depending on the 1969 Chevy Camaro interior that the original owner chose there can be several differences in the color. Most of the interior is going to be the same as far as the gauges, pedals, steering wheel, and other amenities of the car. In the older cars the interior is going to be made of leather. The 1969 Chevy Camaro interior is no different.

The 1969 Chevy Camaro interior is mostly seen as black. While there are some variations such as red, tan, or even blue the black was by far the most popular. The seats are black leather and so is the dash; however you can see a slight change in the carpet. Some of the 1969 Camaro’s had a grey carpet over the black. Underneath the carpet the floors are generally the same color as the outside paint. This helps anyone recognize whether they’ve found an authentic 1969 model.

The dash was smaller than some of those we have today. In fact all the gauges were kept between the steering wheel for optimal sight while driving. Even the heating controls will be found nearer to the steering wheel. The heating controls were slide bars that move up and down to control the temperature.

The dash boards were leather on the top and near the heating vents. The leather usually leaves off as the glove compartment starts. This compartment is rather large, even with the slope downwards to accommodate the passenger’s legs.

The gear shift is usually a short affair. The pedals of the 1969 Chevy Camaro interior are racing in style. In other words they have the holds for grip rather than the pads seen today in Camaros. The pedals are silver and completely metal.

Some Camaros have back seats as well that are made from leather with the grey carpeting. If restoring a Camaro it is important to find authentic carpet and seats to replace the older versions with.
