Rental Arrangement Suitable To Your Holiday Experience

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

While visiting Queensland, it is important that you are aware of the rules, when you are traveling through the outback. Before you enter the road, you are required to contact the police and let them know where you are heading. Once you reach your destination, you are then required to make another phone call to the police and inform them of your arrival. This is an important procedure, so that if you are not at your destination and the approximate time of your arrival, they police will be able to easily find you. It is also important to know that although you can travel these roads with a car, the best choice of vehicle is a 4 WD.

It is also important, that while you are traveling, you are prepared, should anything go wrong with your transportation. Any spare parts that you may need, such as tires, should be in tow, since the roads are extremely remote, and it can take hours for a tow truck just to reach you. A mobile phone, is not the most reliable communication device, in the outback, so another great item that you should travel with is a high frequency out post radio transmitter, equipped to pick up the Royal Flying Doctor Service bases.

It is also important that you ensure you have, at least, 20 litres of water for each person you are traveling with. Another important item to bring along is food, this way if there was every a disaster you will have enough water and food to help you survive while you wait for help to arrive. You also want to make sure you are aware of the travel recommendations for the outback roads you will be traveling. It is recommended that you avoid the North trails during the rainy season, as it is know to become flooded and muddy. It is also recommended that you avoid the south west trails during the months of November to March, as they are dusty and can cause a malfunction to the electronics in your car.

One of the best ways to ensure that you are traveling the proper roads, and are fully prepared for your journey, is to speak with the local police. They will advise you on which tracks are open and what is the suitable car for your travels. Another useful service is the RACQ (Royal Automobile Club of Queensland. When you join, they will cover up to $95 per year, and offer a 24 hour emergency roadside assistance service. If something were to happen, they will promptly arrive and try to correct the situation. If the problem can not be corrected they will arrange towing for you, making them a great asset. RACQ can also provide you with maps, weather and road conditions, and they sell a range of travel and driving products that will help with your travels.

If you do run into trouble, it is VERY important that you stay with your car. Cars are much easier to spot than people in the outback and plenty of travelers have wandered off into the wilderness, dying of thirst long after their abandoned car was found!

For the a Australia car hire that travelers can rely on log onto www.budget.com.au. There variety is grander then the rest and you will be sure to get a reliable vehicle. It is the car rental Gold Coast travelers can rely on!

What Should I do if I am Stopped for Drunk Driving?

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

Almost everyone has been stopped by law enforcement at one time or another for a traffic violation. Whether the stop is for something as simple as a burned out headlight, or you didn’t come to a complete stop, we all know that feeling when we see the flashing lights in our rear-view mirror. Imagine how much worse that feeling is when you have had a little too much to drink. Every day I meet with people who have been charged with traffic violations and drunk driving offenses. As I explain to a client their rights, one of the comments I hear most is, I wish I had known that when I was stopped.

Many people are under-educated about their rights, or even misinformed about the law and what decisions they should make when they are stopped for a traffic offense. Many people think they should just do whatever the police officer tells them to do because they don’t have any other options. Below is a basic list of things to keep in mind when you are stopped for drunk driving or driving under the influence of drugs. Laws will vary from state to state, and the following list is Colorado specific. Please check with a local attorney about the laws in your state.

1. You have the right to remain silent. You do not need to answer any questions the police ask you about where you were going, why they stopped you, or how much you have had to drink. Even from their very first contact, the police are trying to build a case against you. Always be polite with the officer, but do not make any statements about what happened, how much you have had to drink, or any other violation they are investigating.

After you provide the officer your drivers license, insurance and registration, your best advice is to keep your mouth shut. When the officer stops you he is looking for any clue that you may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Even if you answer innocuous questions, the officer is looking for clues when you talk such as the smell of alcohol on your breath, or slow/slurred speech.

One of the officers first questions is always, How much have you had to drink tonight? Some of the most common answers to this question are, two beers, or, I had a couple with dinner. Many people erroneously believe that if they minimize their use it wont look as bad, but by admitting to alcohol use you are helping law enforcement build a case against you.

2. Do not take any roadside sobriety tests. Roadside sobriety tests are voluntary. These tests are used to help the officer determine if you are under the influence and can be used at trial and at the Department of Revenue/Motor Vehicle hearing against you. Do not provide the police with any additional evidence that can bolster their case. These tests often include eye tests, walk and turn, one leg stand, alphabet or counting tests.

This includes any preliminary breath tests (PBT) at the scene of the stop. The results of the PBT are not admissible in Court in Colorado because they are not as accurate as other chemical tests. However, the police use these tests to confirm their suspicion that you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and to build their case against you for further tests that are admissible in Court.

3. If you do not take the mandatory chemical test, you could lose your license. In Colorado, if you do not take the mandatory chemical test of your breath or blood as is required under express consent laws, you will lose your license for a year in addition to any other license suspension imposed. The mandatory chemical tests include a blood test, a breath test or urinalysis. The mandatory breath test is different from the PBT, and is typically done on a large machine at the police station after an observation period is completed under strict regulations. If you don’t know if a test is required under the law, ask the officer. In many cases you would be best advised to submit to a chemical test of your blood. In Colorado, a second sample will be taken of your blood. This second sample is available to you to be tested at an independent lab. In many cases this second result can come back lower, or so different from the first test as to cast doubt onto the result of either test. These results can be used to your advantage in plea negotiations and at trial.

If you refuse chemical testing you can still be charged with drunk driving. Many people believe that if they don’t submit to a test, then the government will not be able to pursue a case against you for drunk driving. Prosecutors may still use all other evidence they obtained against you such as bad driving, smell of alcohol, visual clues of intoxication, roadsides tests, and even the fact that you refused the test can be used against you in Court.

4. You have a limited time to request a Department of Motor Vehicles/Department of Revenue hearing. If you are above the legal limit of a .08 BAC in Colorado two proceedings will begin against you, 1) the criminal process, and 2) the DMV/DOR process. Although the criminal process can carry hefty penalties such as fines, jail, community service, and alcohol classes, the DMV only has the power to suspend or revoke your driving privileges. You may say, Only? My ability to drive is a huge deal. That is why it is so important to request a DMV hearing before the time runs and the suspension automatically goes into effect.

In the state of Colorado, you have seven days from the date of the results of the breath test to request a hearing or your license will automatically be revoked. For a blood test, the procedure is a little different. Whereas the results of a breath test are immediate it often takes a few weeks for blood results to come back from the lab. If you were above a .08 the police will forward your results to the DMV, and you will receive a notice via mail. This letter will have all instructions on how to request a hearing and a deadline by which the hearing must be requested. Whether you chose a breath test or blood test, you should request a hearing as soon as possible so you can explore all legal and factual defenses at the DMV/DOR hearing to protect your driving privileges.

When you request the hearing you will receive a temporary license that is valid until the date of the hearing. Remember, if you don’t request the hearing you will automatically lose your license. In many situations there is a legal or factual defense that can save your license if the proper arguments are presented at the hearing.

5. Hire an experienced Drunk Driving lawyer as soon as possible. A drunk driving case presents many highly complex legal and procedural issues. A plea or a conviction to a drunk driving charge can have lasting implications on your life, your license, and your freedom. It can also have many unforeseen consequences as well. An experienced drunk driving defense attorney will advise you at all stages of your case of potential pitfalls and other issues as they may arise in your case.

A Drunk driving defense lawyer will review your case for all legal and factual deficiencies in the governments case against you to help you present your best defense. The old saying that only a fool represents himself could not be more true. The earlier you hire an attorney, the better, so as to avoid making any costly mistakes early in the case.

Window Tinting Is A Smart Customization

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

When you are customizing your car with performance auto parts and truck accessories, you definitely have a great many choices at your disposal. Few of those choices, however, gives you as much bang for your hard earned bucks than that of window tinting. Window tinting is a real sharp customization, as this one customization can accomplish a great deal and do so relatively inexpensively and quickly. That is tough to beat!

The most obvious change to your car or truck is that it will simply look fantastic. Most people do not have cars or trucks with tinted windows. This basic fact means that your car or truck will stand out most of the time. Darkened windows had mystery and intrigue to any vehicle that has them. There is a reason that you see limousines with darkened windows. That reason, to put it bluntly, is because they look pretty cool.

The simple fact is that tinted windows can add to the customizations that you have already installed in your car. Think it over for a second, and you will realize just how much tinted windows can add to your existing customization work and dollars spent. Dark windows will definitely contrast against your chrome or against that awesome grill you’ve installed. On this point, there is just no denying. All of your other exterior customizations will likely benefit from having sharp tinted windows.

Window tinting will reduce interior heat and glare inside a car. Where this can really become evident is during a long car ride. A long car ride where the sun is burning into your face, even with the air conditioner on, can become a bit trying after a few hours. Window tinting is a great way to reduce both interior heat and glare.

Not only does window tinting address the issue of glare and heat, but it also works to remove most of the damaging ultraviolet or UV radiation that comes into your car. The sun gives us life, but it is also a beast on upholstery and may make your car or truck’s interior look years older. Just like spending too much time in the sun can wrinkle your face it can also crack the interior of your car or truck as well. One way to keep this from happening is to tint your windows.

Finding customizations that add value to your car and your driving experience in several different ways is hard to come by. That is part of what makes tinted windows such a wonderful alternative. Since tinted windows work for you in such a variety of ways you can be certain that you received your money’s worth.

New Cars And The Busy Soccer Mom

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

For the soccer mom there are options about new cars that others do not think of. Your life is centered on driving your vehicle and it becomes your family’s second home. Because it is your second home you consider many factors when choosing your house on wheels.

Size: A car needs to fit a lot of kids. You may have only two children but they come with other children in carpools and all of their stuff. There is a lot you need to tow in your vehicle from groceries, to sports equipment and maybe even cases of Girl Scout cookies. Size matters when it comes to moms.

Cup Holders: It matters that everybody has a place to put their drink. It may sound silly but it is not to the moms who are driving all the kids. It is also not funny to the designers of these vehicles who take this into consideration.

Extras: Many cars now come with extras such as a DVD player. This can be a life saver in traffic or for a longer drive. If you are waiting for a class to start or just need a little quiet time plug in jacks for everyone is a great extra as well.

GPS: Having a navigation system is great for everyone who is on the go. You may do the same routine but there are those times when you have to find a new one. They are also great if there is a detour. Store locators are also great when you are looking for a place to eat or a specific store.

It may not be soccer your kids are into but you get the point. The features that make your life easier will make you happier. Some manufacturers even gear their ads towards making a mom’s life easier with the vehicle they choose to get their family around town.

Learn The Difference Between Low Rider Airbag and Hydraulic Suspension Systems

Monday, March 8th, 2010

There are numerous options that are offered to low-rider enthusiasts to accomplish the specified ‘in the weeds’ look. Included in this are dropped spindles, chopping the suspension springs, hydraulic systems and airbag systems. In the modern low-rider culture airbags or hydraulics are usually preferred over dropped spindles or chopped springs since the ride height is adjustable.

Airbag Suspension: The installation of airbag technology is now the most common method of suspension modification due to its price and simplicity. A cheap system can cost about $400 to install leading up to about $1000 for a more advanced system.

To create an adjustable ride the coil springs are replaced with a rubber bag that is filled with air from a central reservoir which is filled using an air compressor. To raise the car the bags are inflated with air and to lower the car the bags are deflated. A simple system features a air-bags, a compressor, a reservoir and control unit.

It is important not to drive with the suspension completely lowered all the time as it can lead to premature failure of the airbag itself as the rubber will become fatigued. It is also probably dangerous and impractical due to the inability to move the wheels fully as they will be tucked up under the wheel-arches. Conversely riding with the suspension fully raised will cause a very harsh ride and may cause cracking throughout the mounting points of the airbags. While airbags give to be able to adjust the ride height it generally slower than its hydraulic counterpart.

Hydraulic Suspension: With a hydraulic installation it is possible to make the jump, bounce and hop due to the speed at which the ride height can be adjusted. In the air-bag system the suspension spring is replaced with a rubber bag that is filled with air in the hydraulic system however the spring is replaced with a bladder that is filled with fluid under immense pressure very quickly. This rapid expansion causes the car to lift very rapidly and based upon the speed of the flow could potentially cause the car to jump of the ground.

The pumps required to fill the bladders are very power-hungry and often require the low-rider having several batteries to make the system successful. The flow to each bladder, usually at each corner of the car, can be controlled independently using a solenoid valve that can be switched to give the appearance of dancing. In many cases it would be unsafe to be in the car whilst the car is moving so the switches for the solenoids are manufactured externally accessible.Installing a hydraulic system on a low-riders or modified cars can be extremely expensive in comparison with the airbag system.

Why Should You Choose A Chauffeured White Taxi Cab Wedding Car

Monday, March 8th, 2010

The classic London Taxi Cabs are recognised all around the world, they are internationally renowned and you will have seen them on TV or in movies. The London taxis, are iconic and classic, they are so recognizable that they have become a cultural image of our cities.

The rare classic Fairway London Taxi model is the prettiest around, the gleaming white coachwork and extensive chrome fittings including old style chrome bumpers make it ideal for weddings. It is definitely a very practical wedding vehicle; it has seating for 6 people with wheel chair access and can easily accommodate even the most extravagant of bridal wear. The large, wide opening doors of the classic white taxi are more practical for a bride in her wedding dress, making it a far better option than a saloon car.

It is a vehicle for hire that does not come with the cost of a limousine; the taxi is wheelchair-accessible, making it another good option when it comes to quick, easy travel for the elderly, infirm or handicapped, without the chore of finding parking. The chauffeur exits the car, greets the passenger who is in a wheelchair, and helps him or her onto the ramp and into the taxi. Inside, the driver straps the wheelchair in with belts, clips, and locks in for safety.

In comparison to a taxi driver, a chauffeur is more professional, skilled and polished, who can be discrete, friendly and a knowledgeable driving escort, the journey will be a safe and comfortable one with their attitude, manner and professionalism. Uniform is another aspect which can make the difference, the chauffeurs wear a charcoal or grey suit, white shirt, a conservative dark tie, polished black shoes, black gloves and a peaked cap.

Another difference with chauffeur hire is that a chauffeur service is pre planned whereas a taxi service is unplanned. The chauffeur will come to your door on arrival for collection, not honk the horn like a taxi usually does, the chauffeur service is a delight in itself, as a customer will not be left unwatched and uncared during the service duration. The Chauffeur will open and close the car doors for the passengers, help in with the wedding dress and hold bouquets, clutch bags etc, and be at hand with an umbrella if so needed.

Dare to be different with a rare London wedding taxi which is valeted after every journey and can be tastefully decorated with ribbons and flowers as part of the hire service.
