When the first Camaro rolled off the factory floor in 1967 is had a unique and appealing force to it. This has made it a sustainable vehicle through the years. For around twenty eight thousand you will find the next step up which is the Coupe 2LT. All the standards are there along with leather seats, auto dimming mirrors and a head up display. You will also get a four gauge instrument cluster, Boston acoustics speaker premium sound system, Bluetooth options and USB ports. This model comes with 19 inch wheels.

If you want more than V6 power for your new 2011 Camaro then take the next step up to the SS line up. These (1SS and 2SS come with a standard 6.2, 426 horsepower V8 engine. It is just like the 67′ model in the choices that driver enthusiasts are looking for. They come with twenty inch aluminum wheels, four piston Brembo vented disk brakes and a reardeck lid spoiler. You also get a limited slip rear differential and SS seat embroidery. These will run you a bit over thirty thousand dollars.

The 2SS comes with everything listed on the 1SS with the addition of the following standard equipment. Leather appointed seating, auto dimming mirrors, head-up display, four gauge axillary cluster, Boston acoustic 9 speaker premium sound system, Bluetooth wireless technology for selected phones and USB ports. As well equipped as this car is, there are a few available options: A power sunroof, the RS package, automatic transmission and the stripe package. The price without any available options is $34,295.00.

For the higher options you will get what is called an RS package. This gives you better driving and more extra features. You will also get larger twenty inch wheels with the highest end package. These models are top dollar for the 2011 models at around thirty five thousand dollars.

The Chevrolet Company has once again done an outstanding job with the 2011 Camaro by keeping with the ideal of the original 1967 model that launched their success. They have incorporated these visual features that are now considered retro of the body styles of the original model. They are considered an affordable sports car and American made.

67 Camaros – Outstanding Muscle Cars

The 1967 Camaro is one of the greatest muscle cars ever designed. I consider it a work of art, an outstanding example of automobile engineering, and as American as apple pie! It set a standard that cars of today can’t match.

The Camaro is like a good looking woman, it is shaped just right. The long hood and short deck styling makes the car seem like it is moving fast even when the car is sitting still. You can almost imagine it tearing down the road even when at rest. Muscle car power is at its maximum.

In 1966, Chevrolet countered the Ford Mustang with its version of its own muscle car. In the month of September 1966, the 67 Camaro was released to the world. The new “pony car” was a phenomenal hit. Even now, Camaros are still in production.

When it was introduced, the 67 Camaro was the only first generation Camaro to not have the RPO-Z28 Special Performance Package and the 396-cid displacement engine for SS models. Other distinquishing features include: lack of side marker lights, no front quarter windows, VIN tag mounted in door hinge pillar, center console, and had side-vent windows.

Camaros have held their own in value over the years, and are very popular with classic car collectors. Even in poor condition, a 67 Camaro is often priced at about $8,000. In fact, a Z28 in excellent condition is bringing close to $60,000 today. It is a classic car that really holds its value.

The 1967 Camaro was built on brand new rear-wheel drive GM F-body platform. The body was available as a 2-door, coupe, 2 2 seating, or a convertible.

The 67 Camaros came factory in a choice of the inline-6 and the 302, 350, 396 engines or the powerful 396 V8. Let me tell you, the 396 motor can burn tires like nobody’s business. It is a big boy’s toy, thats for sure. In the hands of teenage boy, it will peel off 15 foot black rubber marks regularly from sitting still. It is a hoss.

The 67 Camaro is a treat to drive. It not only looks like a real man’s car, but it is also a great ride. With great handling and performance, this classic muscle car is a thrill to own. If you decide to buy one, you will be glad you did.

1969 Camaro Steering Box

For restorers, maintaining as much of the original parts of the 1969 Chevy Camaro is of utmost importance. At times this is a doable task but, most times, restorers have to make do with replicas rather than original replacement parts. One of the most important parts of the car is the steering box. The 1969 Camaro steering box differed greatly from the 1968 and 1967 Chevrolet Camaro models. The 1969 Camaro steering box also differed from unit to unit depending on whether the steering used for the 1969 Chevy Camaro was a manual or a power steering model. It also differed depending on whether the car used a drum brake or a disc brake assembly.

 

 

In general, the 1969 Camaro steering box can be recognized by its casting number. The manual 1969 Camaro steering box had a casting number of 5679142. On the other hand, the 1969 Camaro steering box that used power steering were given the casting number of 5691676. However, the gearboxes were used for a number of applications and it is difficult to determine the original usage of the box as this information is not permanently marked on the gearboxes themselves. The 1969 Camaro steering box used for manual steering were given short pitman arms and long steering arms. However, other models such as the Z28 used a longer pitman arm and a shorter steering arm.
